David Garrigues on Being Ready for Ashtanga Yoga Practice…Really Ready

2 Sep

Happy September, blogosphere peeps! This is the beginning of Month 6 of the “Ashtanga Experiment” for yours truly. Thanks for everyone who has been supporting me and watching me just keep plugging away…frequently failing, but at least laughing about it.

“How far are you willing to go?”

I’m almost glad I didn’t see this video 5 months ago because I probably would have run screaming into the night…especially the part about the two bananas and you can pretty much forget dinner. Dinner is finished.

And no hiking or bike riding? “You don’t do things that are gonna tighten your body.”

I found myself wanting to cry, again! This is something that I have been instinctively *feeling* over the last 5 months…every time I go to the gym (even for “just cardio”), my practice suffers and I become even tighter. Sigh. Perhaps I need to watch this a few more times…
