DVD Review: Michael Gannon Is Made Of Awesome

4 Apr

I stumbled across Michael Gannon’s youtube video on another yoga blog I follow, Damn Good Yoga (there’s a link on my blogroll).  I like everything about this video–inspiring without being so otherworldly that I get freaked out, like I do with Richard Freeman. Richard Freeman comes across as almost too Spock-like and otherworldly; he has this far away look in his eyes that does not make me want to connect with him. Michael Gannon, though…I would follow him around and cook him vegan food for sure. I especially liked the Jois quotation, “Primary Series, Intermediate Series, many benefits are there. Advanced series only for demonstration!”  If you are interested in Ashtanga yoga, definitely check this out:

Plus he does a great Jois impersonation! I also went to his website and discovered that he has an Ashtanga app for the Iphone. It’s like having a pocket teacher right next to your mat. Makes me wish there was one for my Windows 7 phone…
