About Me

I’m M, a 42 year old woman living La Vida Loca, er, Yoga  in Austin, Texas. Important things: my nickname in high school was “Metal Bitch”, I was the Metal Director at my college radio station and had a mostly Death Metal radio show for four years, I read romance novels like they’re going out of style (oh wait, they are out of style?), bunnies and greyhounds make me happy, science rocks, I got my nose broken in the pit at a GWAR show, Bollywood movies and Korean Dramas are the bomb and I am working on perfecting my secret vegan Cuban sandwich recipe.  By day, I’m an accountant and by night, I’m a hooker. Only kidding! C’mon, haven’t you guys seen that movie Angel from the 80’s?

There are not nearly enough metalhead vegans out there. I used to always say I wanted to pioneer the “vegoth” movement (but I think Vegan Black Metal Chef stole that out from under me, haha). And you have Hashimoto’s…and *I* had my nose broken in the pit at a Meshuggah show when I was a teenager. Are we sisters? ;P

Awesome!!!! We are totally sisters from another mother! I’m working on another yoga metal playlist and it has Meshuggah on it in your honor, Amber. They are going on tour this year, BTW…unfortunately not to Vegas, tho. Might have to road trip to LA.

Great site! And funnily enough, I did a death/black radio show for four years in college and was the station’s metal director. Really fun times.
